Company Overview

Joypix is a Japanese company which started as an online photo portal with its majority of users by way of Kitamura (one of the largest photo fulfilment and photo enhancement companies in Japan).

Joypix wanted a redesign of their photo viewer widget to make it more appealing and interesting.

The concept of having the customer’s images being displayed as if one were viewing them in a traditional photo album.

Kitpix Cube
Photo Portal Prototype

Joypix wanted a more exciting and different way of having their customers manage their photos.

This prototype was based around the idea of a cube and that each plane of a cube acts as a function to view or organize photos.

Dragging over the cube spins it to the next face offering different options.

Kitpix Wheel
Photo Portal Prototype

Joypix wanted a more exciting and different way of having their customers manage their photos.

This second prototype was based around the idea of series of spinning wheels. The smallest in the lower left corner being the most basic functions.

With each click another larger wheel pops out and the user is then able to select a range of options which in turns opens more function wheels to manage the user’s photos.
